The 19th Annual Summer Spud Mixed Bonspiel involves four
days of summer “fun” curling, a lobster extravaganza, a companion 18-hole golf
tournament, and many other off-ice activities, including:
- Pool party, Thursday afternoon
- Barbeque Reception and Golf Awards,
Thursday evening
- Entertainment, Friday and Saturday
evenings
- Mussel Bake, Sunday
The bonspiel will consist of
56 local and off-Island teams. All
teams are guaranteed at least three games, with prizes awarded to the winner
and runner-up in the championship and other divisions. The golf tournament is scheduled for
Thursday, August 7th.
Curling will begin on Friday, August 8th.

Entry Fee: Curling $320 per
team ($80 for each spare) Non-Curling Guest $40 per
person Golf $35 per person Golf Cart Rental $25 per cart (Golf carts will be available on a
first-come, first-serve basis) - ENTRY FEE MUST ACCOMPANY ENTRY FORM. No post-dated cheques, please. - Entries for new teams will be accepted on
a first-come, first-serve basis,
with priority given to 2007 participants until March 31st, 2008. - Should an entry be canceled after June 15th,
2008, the team will forfeit $100 of its fee. - Please list team members and indicate
which members will be participating in the golf tournament. - Golf teams with at least three members
from the same Summer Spud Curling Team will be eligible to compete for the Jim Fletcher Memorial golf trophy. - This is a fun spiel and teams are
expected to enter and participate with this in mind. The
skip and mate must be of the opposite sex. |
